Meet Derek, from Oklahoma City. When he was 19 years old, he was involved in a train accident which resulted in the amputation of his left leg below the knee. Derek began to pursue his dream of competing in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France by taking up long jump, but needed a new blade. With the help of Scott Sabolich Prosthetics & Research, we were able to donate a special long jump blade to Derek, and shortly after, he won a silver medal at the U.S. National Games! We are thrilled to watch him compete next year and bring home a medal competing on the world stage in Paris!
