Jose Arias-Henriquez

Jose was involved in a motorcycle accident 7 years ago. After multiple surgeries and attempts to save his leg, doctors amputated his leg above the knee. Throughout his journey, he was always stubborn and dealt with things internally and was never one to ask for help. According to Jose, “I have always been an optimist and thankfully, it has gotten me this far, but I think it’s time I ask for help. I have always been active, going to the gym as often as possible. I have had extreme highs and lows, but I am in a place where I want to help others and inspire. I have been actively losing weight, but would love to take my cardio to the next level.” With the support of the Bionic 5k, we were able to gift Jose with a running blade. We worked with All Care Orthotic & Prosthetic Services to make his dream come true. We look forward to seeing Jose run in the next race in Boston, MA!
