Katie Joiner, 18 years old, was diagnosed in May 2013 with Ewing’s Sarcoma in her right tibia. She opted to have her right leg amputated below the knee so that she would have a better opportunity to continue to be active and play sports. She is currently a freshman at the University of Hartford studying prosthetics and orthotics. Katie received her running blade at a presentation ceremony at UMass Lowell. She said, “The new running blade will help me become even more active as I had been participating in basketball and other sports without a proper athletic prosthesis.” We are thrilled to help Katie achieve her dream!
